Tomorrow’s Workplace – A New View of Human Resources

In tomorrow’s workplace, the people part of business, or human resources, has a critical impact on success. We live in a time where much of the knowledge and experience that’s been accumulated in a business is getting ready to leave, whether because of retirement or because there’s a better opportunity down the road. The ability to attract, retain and develop the right people is the difference between thriving or disappearing.

Mission Vision & Values

The HR focus of the Tomorrow’s Workplace is strategic, so it begins by making sure that the Mission, Vision and Values of the business are clear and integrated in the day-to-day functions of the business. Starting with Mission, Vision and Values helps you develop your Employer Brand and assess the gap between where you are and where you need to be.

During the assessment portion of the project we look at your company culture and your human resource practices to give you a picture of where you stand against Best Practices and help you evaluate changes that will help you sustain your business and look at what is needed for growth  and development.

Walk the Talk

Differences between what you say your business stands for, and what you actually do, and the relationships you really have with employees, customers or clients and community partners, are more and more suspect.  To be credible, it’s increasingly important to make sure you walk your talk and know what your talk implies. So that’s how HR ends up looking at your company culture, as well as people.

Policies, procedures, and manuals need to be true supports for your brand, both your customer brand and your employer brand.  While HR policies and procedures need to comply with legislated requirements, they also need to be a match in practice and in tone for your employer brand.

During the project we focus on the way that your Mission is supported through HR policies and practices, how your values are imbedded in day-to-day activities and interactions and how harnessing the passion and energy of your team helps you to achieve your vision. We also look at the way the diversity of your workplace reflects the diversity of your community and the resources and community partnerships that can help you field a team that meets business needs while being  a part of the community.

Change is the Operative Word

Finally, we know that change skills are now essential skills. In the 21st century , change is more rapid and more constant than ever, and whatever we think we know about tomorrow’s workplace will be changed by tomorrow’s events and innovation, so we help you source tools for thriving in this ever changing world.
